Swan's Nest

I have been trying to get a decent shot of this swan on it's nest for days now.  Each time I drive past she is  sitting down with her head upright, perfect pose.  However, not possible to park on that side of the road, by the time I had driven round the roundabout and headed back to the lay by, she was lying down with her head hidden in her feathers. Today, success!  

I am assuming it is a female swan, but could be wrong.  I think swans are equal opportunity parents :)
