Serenity
The photo and the title are so opposite of how I felt today they seemed necessary.
Having made the decision on the house I awoke at 4am and never got back to sleep. I was in work by 7:30 despite the car! I had a couple of problems fixed on it yesterday and used it this morning. It took me several miles to work out the screen wash was working, just the wrong way round. So, if I wash the windscreen, the wipers at the front work but the water squirts out the back and vice versa! Next the engine warning light came on, so to be safe I crept along the M20 at 50pmh. Unheard of!
The hoses are now the correct way round but the light is the heater control panel and will cost £300+ to fix.
Next stress was to make the offer on the house. Estate Agents phones not working. Stomach churning. B texted me constantly to see if I had got through. I did eventually, to be told there was another offer on the table! The house had been on the market since February, why now?! I had to increase our offer considerably to match the other one ( I know he should not have told me what the other bidder had offered) but glad he did. At 2pm he asked if we could manage any more. A further £500 and I had to say no more! He took our offer back to the vendor and they accepted. I cannot describe how stressed and wound up I was! In between all this I was trying to précis an hour long's talk about the Battle of Agincourt into a simple 2 page document that LC staff could read. Amazed to learn that many of the English men had to fight with no trousers because their dysentery was so bad!
I digress. Yes the house we wanted is ours now. The vendors have not got anything yet, but we can wait. My ideal would be a move in Late July, early August.
