Educational prison

One thing that I can never quite understand is that every single day, during my free periods, I'll see so many students bunking lessons and sitting around and doing nothing, wasting their education. I understand that some people may not be so great with exam based/'logical' subjects like science and maths, but wasting the entire day doing nothing? I can never understand that. Some young people in other countries would give anything for an education, let alone a free one.
