Cloches in the sun
Busy time at the allotment
Mr P is doing lots of digging over the beds ready for me to do the planting next week.
My task today has been to wash 42 cloches to remove all the old soil and eggs that that have been laid in them over the fallow months by snails, slugs and all other kinds of pests that eat our crops over the growing season.
We try our best to be organic, so do no spraying or use slug pellets etc
I'm hoping I've washed away all future pests for this season but I've also got a realistic streak and know that won't be the case!
We put a cloche over a tender plant and it acts like a little mini greenhouse.
Here you can see some of the cloches drying on the lawn in my back garden.
