A Couple of Bugs

We are installing a retractable shade cloth awning over our deck.  The first stage is to concrete a couple of posts in the ground around a metre deep. The fellows came to do this this morning but there was so much water in the soil that the holes filled with water and the sides collapsed in.  The other concern was that the soil under my deck footings would also collapse into their hole.  As a result they packed up and expect to return when the soil is less waterlogged.

I have been pottering around tidying up the rubbish from the storm.  I found these bugs on a Blackberry Night Shade plant.
