Bridge over the River Ure

Picking a single image from today's travels was really difficult! After the recent Richard the third news, we decided to visit his home, Middleham Castle, something we'd been meaning to do for many years! We then drove to Hawes in Wensleydale, where we ate lunch before enjoying a nice walk in the surrounding countryside. We went to see the Hardraw Force waterfall and had a refreshing glass of beer at the Green Dragon inn, which is also the entrance to the falls. No visit to Hawes is complete without calling at the Creamery, home of Wensleydale Cheese, for some free tasters and to top up our larder. The journey home took us past the Ribblehead Railway viaduct, another little photo opportunity, then on to Settle for fish and chips. Out of all todays photographs I have uploaded one showing the River Ure as it passes Hawes.
