the waiting game
This bit never gets any easier.
I’m in Oxford today for my 6-monthly CT scan. I see the oncologist for the results next week. It’s been 5 years this month since my cancer returned. And so we go through the roller coaster of emotions while we wait.
I wanted to blip the CT scanner today - the giant doughnut would make a striking image - but I’ve got a line in my arm which makes fumbling for my camera difficult and the staff are rushing around (there’s a crowd in the waiting room) so I don’t feel I can hold up the process.
I settle instead for the American Garden. In an earlier life the Churchill Hospital was run as a US Military hospital. This plaque commemorates that fact.
