Boardman's Entry , A Tribute to John Dalton

A delightful Entry, lined overhead with umbrellas made of metal. Not because it rains in Manchester but as a tribute to John Dalton (father of science ). This amazing man kept the daily weather records for Manchester for fifty years. As for the umbrellas it is reported that Dalton at age 15years purchased an umbrella in his home town and saw it as being  symbolic of his becoming a gentleman .If you continue from Boardman's Entry you come to Dalton's Entry and Mulberry Passage where there are more tributes to this great scientist .
