Experimenting with the new lens

Physio session this morning (argh!) then a nice catch up with a chum in Chelts. Robin was in town too and picked me up (which was nicer than being bounced about on the bus post-physio). We have been debating about buying a macro lens for our Canon camera and Robin had been into the London Camera Exchange on the prom (great shop) and had made the purchase for the business!

As well as helping people get to grips with their new DSLR we also have a service where we let people use a DSLR for the day to help in their decision process regarding making the shift from point and shoot. We also let them try different lenses and have a macro lens for our entry level Nikon but did not have one for the Canon so I now feel we can represent both brands equally well, The Canon macro is actually a Sigma lens, it's the 105 1:2.8 DG MACRO HSM and gets very good reviews.
I played with it in the garden for an hour this afternoon and was very pleased with the results. This bee is not as sharp as I would like but this was hand held and I do like the detail of the wee hairs on the pretty yellow flower.
