I do like Dandelions!

I know gardeners curse them as they apparently ruin their lawns, flowerbeds etc., and have roots that go to the centre of the Earth. But they are a very pretty flower, and a lovely sunny, cheery shade. I've seen duller flowers that they want to grow in their gardens.

It all seems to be about how much work they take! If a plant needs protection from all elements and every pest going, and demands constant attention lest it shrivel to a little brown clump, they want it. If it's self-reliant, sturdy and independent it  is their enemy no matter how attractive! They don't seem keen on buddleia either, and it even comes with free butterflies!!

This dandelion, thriving on the grass verges of Metheringham, has a little insect of its own...
