The Beaver

There is always some delightful at the pond.  This spring, it seems there is more activity than usual.  It must be that all the animals and birds are as thrilled as we are that spring has arrived.
Tonight, as I was watching the heron again, this beaver splashed into the pond from the shore. I got all kinds of pics of him and his partner, swimming all about.  Every time they came close to the shore, and I started shooting, they would swim back into the pond.  They swam in circles and began slapping their huge, flat tails into the water, looking totally frustrated that I was standing there. It was a signal that said " I am not happy!"
Finally, they gave up being mad, and went close to the shore to gnaw on a piece of wood.
