Gone Fishing

Here's my golfing partner Phil (on the right) trying to fish out one of the four balls that our two groups had just hit into the pond in front of the 4th.

Almost a year since he was last able to play, it was good to see Russell (in the cap) back out on the course after his battle with bowel cancer, while the third culprit here, Paul, has just taken up the game having come through a couple of opreations himself.

This afternoon I called in to see the missing member of our group of golfing friends (all ex-teaching colleagues) Dave who finished his final dose of chemo today.

He's now got to have a couple of scans to assess the effect of his treatment before a probable operation to remove any remaining cancer in June. He's hoping to join us for a few holes next week.

It makes you appreciate being able to get out and have some fun with good friends on a glorious day like this.
