Sunrise

Not a good day today.  Mum and her family were told very firmly by the doctor that she had two choices, either she went into hospital to be investigated as to why she was not eating or drinking or it is likely that she will die in less than two weeks.
Mum was very clear that she did not want to go into hospital and who can blame her?   I have sensed her withdrawing over a couple of weeks now, so I am assuming that this is all part of the dying process.  She is no longer able to sit in her chair and is lying in bed, but seems calm.  
Interestingly, it is two years to the day almost that she had her major stroke which left her paralysed and in need of 24 hour care.  However, it has to be said that she does seem to have had some quality of life in that time and she has seemed happy and contented in the Nursing Home.  
Despite her age it is very hard to accept because she has always been so much part of our lives.
