Purdown overflight
Running, or maybe, walking up Gloucester Road early this morning.
Through the side roads you see glimpses of the sun rise.
Even at 7 am this morning the Sun was well up.
That's Purdown in the distance, beyond Lockleaze. A place to walk your dog, have an off road run and to get a good view of Bristol. It's where the mini post office tower, a clear Bristol landmark, is situated. Purdown is high up so there were gun emplacements situated there during the war. How effective they were, I'm not sure because a lot of central Bristol got flattened.
Maybe if they'd dissuaded a few more bombers we wouldn't have ended up with Broadmead!
