Between Worlds

This tranquil scene on the grounds of Cedarbrook Lodge is less than two miles from SeaTac International Airport, where tomorrow (Tuesday) our first flight of two that will get us to North Carolina will take off shortly after 8 a.m.

We need to be at the airport around 6:30 a.m. to get through the security checkpoint, even withTSA pre-check status, and then to our boarding gate in good time. SeaTac served 37,497,941 passengers last year, and is the largest airport in the Pacific Northwest.

We stayed at Cedarbrook Lodge once before, when we had an early flight out, and appreciated the spacious grounds, comfortable rooms, and excellent range of food choices. Phil and I are "small plate" eaters, so the happy hour salads plus a couple of glasses of a pleasant Oregon Pinot Gris for me and a local beer for Phil, augmented by some small treats afterward, were perfect.

An early start tomorrow, getting up about 5 a.m. and taking the hotel shuttle to the airport, and a long travel day, but seeing my cousin L and her husband B at the end of it will more than make up for the rigors of travel!
