Open Air Theatre
I struggled with what to do for today's monomonday challenge of 'Air' wondering how on earth to show this invisible abstract noun. In true dedicated blipping style, we left the villa very early to attempt a dawn air shot of a mountain and statue we had seen near Murcia. Unfortunately both were disappointing so not worth the ridiculous alarm call!
We ended up in Cartagena to view the Roman Amphitheatre to find that most places are closed on a Monday, including the Roman remains **** We were able to get good view of it though by walking around and peering over walls. Close by is a local outdoor theatre which has concrete seats (take your cushion) but seemed to have good acoustics from the stage, as tested by Mr C!
There was a wonderful larger than life sculpture of a naked man on the harbour front but that really isn't for blipping; I'll put a photo on Flickr bit later!
The combination of the heat and the early start then drove us to a bar for a cold beer before heading back to the villa for a siesta!
It is only just now that I have realised this place fits the bill for today's challenge...open AIR Theatre! The Roman version did not look good in mono but the more up to date version works quite well.
Now dinner and a glass of chilled white are beckoning!
