Dock of the Bay

Phew! A day hard at it, ploughing through the proofs and my eyes are now goggled. It's all the last bits that take so long. Another beautiful day though and a break was needed by late afternoon so went for a quick walk down by Kilcrohane pier. The light was subtle and bit hazy but everywhere blackthorn was blossoming, primroses lurking in the hedgerows and thrift popping up on the shore. We walked under those big muddy cliffs on the left, notorious for a bit of slipping and sliding, and then went up a small track to explore on top of them having heard there might be a yet unvisited ringfort. There was! And even more exciting, it was a cashel ie made out of stone rather than earth, and in very good nick. Across the bay and more or less in the centre there used to be  a tower house, and over to the right and higher up are the remains of a Bardic school. This gentle landscape is actually teeming with interesting and hidden things. It might be worth biggifying.
