Revitalising a Village

Visiting Poynton , Cheshire where the Village Revitalisation Scheme which has been going on for several months, is nearing completion. There are sculptures at the four gateways into the village, each one representing part of Poynton's history- mining, aviation, industry, and agriculture. Aviation relates to the links with A V Roe and de Havilland which was established at nearby Woodford in 1928, and closed in 2011. The Avro Heritage Centre ensures that it will never be forgotten.
