Littleport Library
Not a very inspiring blip today - rather dull day too. This is our library - we are fortunate still to have one - many villages don't. As you can see it is an old building - the red door is no longer used - there is a wheelchair accessible entrance on the side now. The niche to the left of the door used to hold the bronze panels bearing the names of the fallen of the two world wars but these were removed to the new war memorial (see blip for 9th November) and it now holds a memorial to a local railwayman who was awarded the George Cross (posthumously) for his bravery in 1944.
I have put a close up of that on Flickr ( I do miss blip folio!) View full screen to read it.
