A New Day

A Blipper Blipped?

Backblip

Another lovely sunny, but cold, day, so another drive around to see what we could find.  We prefer not to plan too many trips, as often it's the unexpected detour that turns out to be the most interesting:-)

One such was a stop at Dulnain Bridge, originally to try to get a photo of the snowy Cairngorms, but the trees got in the way in spite of it being an "official" viewpoint!  However, there was a fascinating sculpture relating to the type of rock found in the area and known as "roche moutonnées", so named because it was said to resemble the French wigs that were fashionable at the time and which were smoothed down with mutton fat!!  Bet you didn't know that:-)

The wildlife round this are has been wonderful, especially the birds, but we really didn't expect to see a Reeves's pheasant with its enormous long tail in among a group of ordinary pheasants!  Was tempted to blip that too!

However, I spotted this photographer setting up his tripod for a shot of the little bridge and couldn't resist taking his picture.  A blipper, perhaps?
