Animals Instinctively Know What They Need...
This morning I took Eldest for his first ice-skating lesson. After going skating in the Easter holidays, he decided that he wanted to learn properly so we booked a private session with the coach from the rink..he really enjoyed it and she offered to grade him..he passed grades 1, 2 & 3.
This afternoon, the physio came out to look at Johnny as my instructor decided that there may be something more to the lack of 'oomph' in yesterday's dressage test. Luckily as the physio is also a friend she came out to look at him today. He was a little bit stiff in his neck and shoulders (I know that feeling) but as we were discussing diet we realised that lack of salt can have the same effect. As I had left his salt lick at the last yard by mistake, we borrowed one to try him with..he went mad for it, obviously needing the salt as he immediately picked up. I am always amazed how animals instinctively know what they need..I will definitely be going salt lick shopping tomorrow!
