A Patch of Lovliness

Driving through the town,  there is evidence of end of winter still here.  Branches down from the heavy snow, leaves still on the ground, and grass that is still waking up from the cold days. The overall color is kind of "blah".
But, as I was passing by one house, there, in the middle of all of this, was a beautiful patch of crocus. The color was so bright, I stopped the car in the middle of the street!  One rectangle of green grass lay beneath the blanket of color.  Such a beautiful sight!

This quote from Geoffrey B. Charlesworth sums it up:

"Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer."
