A Run in the Park

This is the Harrogate Park Run starting off at 9:00 a.m. this morning.
Every Saturday morning since 2004, Park Runs take place all over the UK and in other countries too. They are volunteer led, free for all timed runs of 5km for all ages and abilities.
Nowadays it is relatively high tech, and each runner has a barcode to facilitate the processing of thousands of entries and times which are usually published by the afternoon of the same day on their web site.
Today's event (number 172) seemed particularly well attended with about 300 or more runners. No doubt due to it being a clear sunny morning.
