Knowing a little about the history of Sarasota, I was aware it was settled by many people from Scotland early on, and found this historical marker today, so decided to post it as a tribute to those who came here many many years ago and stayed.  As a sidebar, the very first "golf course" was built in Sarasota, by a Scotsman, in his back yard and it was three holes.....
