Took a trip to Prestwick on the way home tonight and was treated to a miniature air show.  One of the Navy Hawks did a series of fly pasts and touch and go’s over the runway. 
 
Then things started to develop.  One of the guys had a scanner and as two of the airport fire trucks came out with blue lights flashing he said that there was talk of an issue with one of the aircraft.
 
Just about the same time one of the Cobham Falcons came down runway 03 and decided to drop some form of missile or bomb.  I just couldn’t believe it, good news was it didn’t go off.  Who would have believed that Prestwick would come under attack like this.
 
Then the real emergency headed in, a Merlin helicopter with “technical issues”.  They landed without any issues but once parked on the apron the crew were out before the rotors had stopped turning.
 
Anyway, seens they didn’t crash this shot of the bombing run on runway 03 made it for todays blip.
