The Earl's Punch Bowl
Chucking out time at Mar Lodge. Mrs AB went off up Beinn a Chaorainn; me and the rest cycled on the Brig o' Dee circuit passing the picturesque Linn of Quoich and this intriguing natural hole in the rock. Carved over millenia by the passage of water and pebbles, it was reputed to have been used literally as a Punch bowl after deer hunting expeditions. I think I'd fancy it more as an al-fresco bath after a mountaineering expedition. In summer only you understand.
