Cloud 9?
Leaving our weekly dance class at the MacRobert Centre today we got stopped by a film crew recording the installation of a new sculpture in the grounds of Stirling University.
Would we mind being interviewed?
"Not at all!" we chorused.
I said how much I admired the new work and that it reminded me of Barbara Hepworth and that there was a Japanese aesthetic to the work too, not surprising since sculptor Kate Thomson , we learnt later, is married to a Japanese artist. ( More about these sculptures in another blip - I was going to photograph them but it started raining.)
But what about this for about a piece of serendipity?
Once the interview was over we got to chatting to the crew, students from the university's Film and Media Department, and they asked us what we were doing there, since clearly we were not students.
Well, never one to miss an opportunity I told them about our group of dancers and our dilemma in a search for a name.
The three front-runners are - Diamond Dancers, Groovy Movers or Diamond Delight.
The sculptor, Kate Thomson stepped forward:
"Cloud 9?"
Everyone nodded.
What do you think?
