In the Cathedral

Today the Cathedral had a special open day as there was an engineering exhibition on in there. There were some fascinating things - medical technology, aeroplane  parts, the latest BMW sporty ecocar and all sorts of other technological wizardry! I took lots of shots of all that stuff.

We could also walk around the Cathedral itself.The place has an amazingly tranquil atmosphere despite being full of hordes of schoolkids and other people looking at the exhibitions. It's another place where you can "feel" the history, but it's not at all unsettling. If they didn't charge an arm and a leg to go in there normally I'd go a lot more often!

The architecture, art and craftsmanship of the place is awe inspiring. They certainly don't make things to endure like this now, at least not in the world I inhabit...
