Bargain Day.
After Thursday lunch at The Foresters V dragged me along to our local shopping mall. Technically I wasn't dragged because I was driving, but I had little choice.
As it happened I had little to complain about. My blip on 18th April showed a damaged bed and I also mentioned a damaged lounge suite. Those two complaints have now been settled and the retailer in question, part of a well known national chain, recompensed us handsomely with vouchers to spend in store. Never one to shun a bargain V couldn't get there quick enough. However, it was I who struck lucky as our first call was the clothing department but there was nothing which caught V's eye. I really dislike clothes shopping but I did notice a smart looking summer jacket at £45. As the sign shows there was a 20% discount, bringing it down to £36. We already had a voucher for £5 off any item exceeding £30, reducing the cost to £31. Amongst the vouchers given to us towards compensation for our bad experience with the suite and the bed was one for £30.
I walked out of the store with a nice new suede jacket for the grand sum of £1 which I borrowed off V.
And V? Well she got a shiny Breville stainless steel kettle for £2 in a similar fashion, but it's not quite the same, is it?
