Wood Pigeon .

More maintenance at the Lodge.  Nearly finished but I hadn't allowed for how long it would take up a ladder doing the woodwork above the verandah.

I had the camera close to hand to try for bird shots after I missed a Goldfinch sitting in the top of a neighbours tree singing yesterday.  Unfortunately there wasn't anything as exciting today.   However I noticed this individual hanging around on the fence.  By the time I had picked up the camera it was into the conifer.  Moments later another appeared from the depths of the tree.  I assume they have a nest.  I just missed catching the pair side by side.

I will watch developments with interest.
