Love is in the air ...

Well, perhaps not love. We've had a mare in season staying with us for a few days so that she and Otis could get it together.

Otis was very much on the case. Today he didn't even bother to say hello to her, just got on with his job!

Amazing how her presence affected the other horses. It was the boys day to go out and they were all a bit ' playful ' in the morning. The mare went home at lunchtime and by the time I fetched the boys back in to their stables, they were all calm again. Good thing too, it can be a bit unnerving having half a ton of horse meat with hooves the size of dinner plates skipping and bucking along beside you!
