The Poppy Line
Well, breakfast was one to set you up for the day – very enjoyable. Wife had decide a treat was in order for yours truly so we’d ride the Poppy Line from Holt to Sheringham - the out journey was on an old Diesel train and the return by steam (LNER class B12 4-6-0). We had an hour in Sheringham so wandered down to the beach, window shopping on the way. The return journey was a real treat with steam and original coaches. They certainly knew how to provide comfortable seating back then. We then went to Waybourne beach (well shingle). Here were quite a few photo opportunities and a chance to “bask in the sun”. And then on to Blakeney Quay, never been before and were surprised how pleasant it was. Lots of chats with people we’d never met before and well as lots of photo opportunities.
