St Austell Cemetary

This was a cemetery once, it still is but now its more of a remembrance park.
I remember when the council took all the grave stones from the grave heads and placed them as you see here. They are like this, two deep, all around the edges of this park. A lot of locals were disgusted, this I understand & I felt shocked too!
There now is a modern monument with the words 'Remember those buried here' ingraved in the slabs underneath it. It's a pity I cant put up 2 or 3 more photos to show you.
So people can now go & sit on the benches and walk along the 3 paths that wind around the assortment of trees. It's peaceful tho I still dont know why the council did this!
