Lost ball

The ritual dance of middle England on a golf course as the hackers search for a ball in the stream, which I assume is out of bounds anyway.

I was going to say it was a lazy sort of a day, but that isn't strictly true as it was busy in places but with long periods of inactivity. We collected the car from its service first thing after breakfast then went for a 5 mile stroll around the village and golf course, from where this shot was taken.

After a quick trip to the shops for birthday cards we had Barbara and David down for coffee which turned into a long lunch in the warm outside under the parasol. We were planning to go to the allotment and Barbara and David were planning to do some gardening up at Doreen's.

In the event we did get to the allotment and did some hoeing up, sowing and watering but no gardening was done at Doreen's. We came home from the allotment with rhubarb to stew for pudding, then it was time to cook dinner for 5, wash up, clear away and put on the dishwasher......
