A Haven in Stone

I always think the sign of a good friendship is being able to go ages without seeing each other, but dropping straight back into conversation and ease as soon as you get back together. Got looked after by Neil, his wife Lesley, and their two boys, tonight. I went to uni with Neil, and we actually met up for a drink in Edinburgh last year, but it has been some time since then, and had been ages before that.

Of course it was helped by Lesley turning out a fab roast dinner, and wonderfully experimental rolled pavlova (the experiment worked, deliciously). The hours just rolled by so easily, with part of it taken up popping out to the war memorial sitting above Stonehaven. It's a stunning location, and a rather impressive memorial. Pity we still never learn!
