Borrowed from mythology!

While the south of England was basking in warm sunshine, we in the north had yet another grey day!

By the time I made it to Beverley to do my shopping, St Mary's was already closed to visitors so I studied the doorways instead of the well known painted roof. It would appear that medieval architects had no qualms about borrowing figures from a variety of mythologies, the half man half animal being one of the most popular.
