Braemar Castle (1628)

After dropping Mrs AB off at the end of Glen Callater, we were the first visitors of the day to the castle. A wee gem it has to be said with a very friendly host.

Mrs AB appeared in the village after lunch having horsed up Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, we returned to Mar Lodge where the asbestos team were hard at work in the ballroom.

After some kite flying in the gale, I went horsing myself, up the nearby Corbett of Carn na Drochaide. One hour from lodge to summit where there were some grand views over the Dee valley and south to Lochnagar. The higher Cairngorms to the north were being scudded by hail showers passing through.
