Tapping the maples

This is a common sight around here - collecting sap to make maple syrup.  This hose system is a more modern way of collecting.  There are also the old fashioned metal pails attached to trees.  Several local families make big batches of syrup every year. 

Today was a little cooler than the past few days, but still pleasant.  Mr M has taken the preventative antibiotic for his tick bite and is also using antibiotic cream on the site, and we think all will be well.
