Chartres

As ever a long drive but we had time for an hour in Chartres which is always a pretty place to stop. The cathedral towers over the city and the local landscape  and inside you can really appreciate the stunning stained glass windows.
About twenty years ago we stopped and bought some almond croissants that Tricia has never stopped talking about ever since. Today was the day we found the same shop and were able to relive the experience.
The other gastronomic treat - aside of course form my wife's egg sandwiches - was a curry in Eton when we eventually got there for the night.
