The Greater Bee Fly ( Bombylius major )

This little beauty was sunning itself on the kitchen windowsill. When I looked it up on the internet I discovered it is not so beautiful in the way it reproduces by putting eggs near to the larvae of beetles, bees and wasps so the young can eat the young of these species.
