Grading Hell

So I VOLUNTEERED to teach this high school class, thinking I'd enjoy a bit of intellectual stimulation for a change. It is interesting of course, but I'd forgotten it's a writing/presentation course, so that means I have to grade their weekly journals and their exams and their presentations and give them continuous assessment scores twice a term! Bloody hell. I shall know these 18 young ladies well at the end of this year! Trying to be fair with a subjective grading scheme, which by the way must also be graded on a curve, is something I agonize over. I have to learn to be more empirical or I'll go nuts.

This on top of another 8 classes worth of normal exams. Oh what fun!
