First?

In German these flowers are called "tearing hearts", and although I know that California is always very early with blooming spring flowers, I might be the first to make a blip out of these today. I found them in a border that some nice person had made on the side of the street. A healthy plant with lots of blooms, more beautiful than I ever had one in my own garden. 
The weather showed a nice variety of temperatures, starting with 2 degrees  Celsius and ending with 20 degrees in the afternoon. We had sun, and clouds, snow and hail, and sun again. The town is full of trees that are showing off their delightful light green leaves, but for me this flower was the winner of the day.
Tomorrow I will pack so that we can catch our indecently early flight on Thursday, bringing us to Jacksonville. From there we will be heading to Savannah.... Who hooo :-)
