Stoned Love
This is the blossom of a peach tree which grows in our garden. It has a bit of a history.
My sister grew it in a pot from a stone from an Italian white peach. She died some years ago and so my Dad looked after it for a while then we took it over and it languished in its pot for several more years . We eventually planted it in the garden and it has taken off and is now several metres high. Too big really. It's had a few flowers over the years but is smothered with them this year. We only ever get rather hard woody fruit which doesn't ripen properly, and very few of those, but if the predicted heatwave comes to pass, we might be inundated with peaches. I shall open a stall at the side of the road and sell them.
