GIFTS FROM AFAR
We have been really blessed this week with several gifts. When we got back from Boscombe there was a letter from Australia - and I was delighted when I opened it to find a photograph of Estelle and her husband, John, inside a card she had written. She had also included several photographs of their family who had been visiting and flowers and trees from their garden. I am pleased to say she is feeling better and hopes to be blipping again soon, which will be great.
There was also a card saying that there was a parcel at the Sorting Office, which thankfully is only 5 minutes from where we live, but was too big for our letterbox! Mr. HCB was kind enough to go over first thing on Monday morning to collect it. It had been sent by Yvonne, a fellow blipper, who had visited Bangkok earlier this year and was given the various gifts by our son and his girlfriend to bring back to England.
In the parcel were two beautiful bracelets from our son's girlfriend, one with tiger eyes and aquamarine stones and the other with lapis lazuli and blue agate. There was also a Thai Bible that our son thought we might be interested to have - we can't read it of course, but it's good to see it and I will be taking it to church next Sunday.
Thank you to all of you who have remembered us - it certainly makes you all feel so much closer, although we are many, many miles apart - and a special thank you to Yvonne and Geoff for being posties!
“Gracious acceptance is an art -
an art which most never bother to cultivate.
We think that we have to learn how to give,
but we forget about accepting things,
which can be much harder than giving....
Accepting another person's gift
is allowing him to express his feelings for you.”
