Action in the Bay

Rather surprised late this afternoon to see a float plane cruising around the Lagoon. Grabbed the camera and popped down to the water's edge and joined some other neighbours checking out what was going on.

Turns out an extended family, holidaying at the lake were taking a float plane sightseeing cruise. But they needed to walk out to the plane, which for the elderly grandparents was going to be a tad cold. Lars to the rescue, he got our Canadian canoe and ferried them out, they were extremely grateful.

Had a very busy but wonderful morning, Lars's parents Hanne and Chris arrived over with their long handled chainsaw and pruner to do the autumn pruning of the native trees around the section. Everything grows so well here so every Autumn they get a good hard prune. They decided that Ian's shoulder was not up to it, so while he was away they would get stuck in and do the job.....such wonderful neighbours, we are so lucky. Under my guidance, we gave them a rather heavy prune, but know that by next summer they will be looking really good again. Will be interesting to see Ian's face when he gets home tomorrow.
