Lenten rose

A little late for Lent and even for Easter , but they have finally broken ground and escaped from their leaf mulch. Today was totally out of character, not only being warm but also the second sunny day this week. As any one from this area knows our usual allotment  is one a week. Sunny days that is. And even more surprising I managed to get home by 5:30PM , rake the leaves off the hosta  bed and out from under the crab apple, go for a walk and turn the compost heap. It must be spring!
