Old Friends

An old college friend of mine who currently lives in California was back in town helping his mom move into a senior living facility in Pompton Plains. That's him showing his mom some old pictures I brought from 'back in the day'.

Since she was moving into the place where one of my Aunts live, I suggested that we get together and have dinner there so I could introduce his mom to my aunt to ease her transition.

My Aunt (that is her on the right) is in her mid 80's and she is amazing. She works one day a week and also volunteers at the senior living facility in one of their shops. In addition to still being able to drive herself around, she also helps care for her special needs great grand daughter. On Friday she is traveling to Virginia to meet her 2nd great grandchild that was born today and then flying to Northern Cali to spend a month with her youngest daughter and her family.

She says she just has to keep moving even though she has some real bad aches and pains and she is really an inspiration.

Any time I struggle to get out of bed in the morning, especially to go to this new job, I think of her and I say....."keep moving girl".
