Glen Tilt

The train rolled into Blair Atholl after an uneventful journey from Edinburgh, and very soon I was on my way up Glen Tilt. The sky threatened to cloud over throughout the day, but most darkenings came to nothing and I was rewarded with the sun on my back all the way up the glen. Melting snow lay like lace on the hills to the south and the odd side valley had large herds of deer grazing undisturbed.

After 13 or so miles, I reached a watershed of sorts at 490m and a grand pasture on which to pitch the tent.
