Sheep Street, Petersfield
I cycled again today, this time to Sheep Street, one of the oldest streets in our town. Around the C13th Petersfield was a wool town producing a light cloth known as Hampshire Kersey. The houses in Sheep Street tell a story of the wool processing that occured there. One house - still here today - called Carding house, which was where the wool was drawn into long fibres for spinning.
