Alone with my thoughts.

Believing it was going to be a heavily overcast sky at dawn I decided to go for a bike ride instead of a photo session. I did, however, take my camera and little wide angle lens with me.....just in case! Whilst cycling hard down Chestnut Avenue I realised the sky was doing something rather lovely, so headed off to the Heron Pond - I was only just in time to catch these beautiful pre dawn tones. I then stood quietly for a while soaking up the stillness of the park and the sound of the waking birds.
I am reminded of the William Henry Davies's poem

Leisure
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
